The AECB is offering introductory training in building physics. If you really want to know how buildings respond to change, and why, this could be of interest. AECB members get a discount but remember that Carbon Coop members can get free membership.
I have found a series of very good YouTube tutorials on aspects of low energy building that can easily be applied to retrofit.
The latest example (I think) is this one.
Why episode titles are suffixed by “The Ugly Truth” I don’t know. There is nothing ugly about it.
