Housing Energy Retrofit PhD Research

UPDATE

Involving Homeowners in Developing Climate-Adaptive and Good-Quality Residential Housing Retrofitting in England

Dear Resident,

Invitation to Contribute to Research on Energy Retrofit and Indoor Comfort in Yorkshire Homes.

You are invited to participate in ongoing research at the University of Huddersfield on energy retrofits and improved indoor comfort in homes in England. The research seeks participation from residents across various experiences, including households that have undergone energy retrofits, those that have not undergone retrofit but will want to make their homes more energy efficient, and households experiencing dampness and mould.

This study explores how energy-efficient upgrades can reduce energy consumption and enhance the comfort, health, and well-being of residents of affected homes. It also examines refurbishment strategies that improve thermal comfort, air quality and tightness, and overall living conditions while reducing energy costs and tackling the environmental challenges associated with older housing stock.

If you want to learn more or are interested in participating, please contact Ayana Ifeorah at ayana.ifeorah@hud.ac.uk. I would be happy to answer any questions and provide further details. Thank you for considering this opportunity to potentially transform Yorkshire Homes’ future into a more sustainable and comfortable one.

I look forward to your participation.

Best regards,
Ayana Ifeorah - PhD researcher, University of Huddersfield
