Does anyone have any experience of getting using their home assistant to pick up the data from a Givenergy inverter and using this to determine whether or not to switch on the EV charger or immersion.
My solar was commissioned today so I am looking for help in making the best use of it.
We’ve had some good success using this custom integration which is installable on Home Assistant using HACS. While HACS is available on the newer HEMS2 systems, it is not available on your old HEMS.
Given that we are no longer supporting the older HEMS unit, I’d advise you to backup your current configuration and install standard Home Assistant. You should be fine to reuse the same hardware, but it might be worth investing in a new SD card for longevity. We recommend the Sandisk Pro 64gb for new installs (they’re about £10).
Hope that helps,
Matt
