I’m doing a DIY deep retrofit of my 1970s detached house in York which started in 2020 just before covid hit.

We’ve got solar panels and an air source heat pump.

I’ve upgraded the loft insulation.

I’ve removed the suspended ground floors and replaced with solid and underfloor heating.

I’m most of the way through changing the windows and doors.

All of this has been while living in the house with originally 1 and now 2 children.

It’s been a bit like a bad episode of DIY SOS. We’ve now got a functional kitchen and I connected the underfloor heating up in time for Autumn 2022.
