Hi everyone,
I’m new to the Carbon Co-op Community and still finding my way around the forum. I’ve been reading a few discussions and it seems like a great place to learn and share ideas.
I’m interested in getting started with energy efficiency and home sustainability but not sure where to begin. Could anyone point me to some good beginner threads or resources here on the forum?
Thanks in advance for the help — looking forward to learning from you all
Welcome to the forum @ma2bb7. Before I make a start on answering your question I suggest you edit your profile to remove your email address from the publicly visible profile. This seems to be happening a lot these days, perhaps @mattfranklin could look at the onboarding process and see whether better guidance could be provided.
Now to your question and I need to answer with more questions.
What sort of property do you own and what climate zone is it in?
What state of repair is it in?
Do you have any particular priorities or requirements?
Anything else specific to you and your household that may be relevant?
Sorry about the questions but to guide you best we need more information.
Hi @ma2bb7! Welcome to the forum, and thanks @Tim_Gilbert for introducing them, and looping me in.
@Tim_Gilbert I definitely think we might be able to provide better signposting on this sort of thing to new members.
One thread that could be useful to take a look at (although might be a bit out of date now) is: Materials - Useful websites.
We also have a bunch of videos about retrofit and all kinds of energy systems topics on our YouTube channel. Perhaps for getting started it might be worth checking out the ‘Beginners Guide to Retrofit’ webinar we hosted a couple of years ago.
