Best Air Purifier for Home, Expert Reviews

I have researched about the best air purifier for home use over the past few days because I’m concerned about indoor air quality—especially with allergens, dust, and occasional smoke from nearby wildfires. I read reviews on Consumer Reports, Wirecutter (New York Times), and Popular Mechanics, and these two models are consistently rated among the best:

PuroAir 240 HEPA Air Purifiers for Home Large Rooms

iAdaptAir 2.0 H13 HEPA Filter Air Purifier

https://www.amazon.com/Air-Oasis-iAdaptAir-Purifier-Allergies/dp/B07HMGRBYT?th=1

However, I’m having trouble deciding which one would best suit my needs and would really appreciate some expert advice. My home has:

  • A living room with carpet and pets

  • A bedroom with someone who suffers from seasonal allergies

  • Occasionally must deal with cooking odors and wildfire smoke

So which one would be better for my situation? If you’ve used either—or have another recommendation—I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks in advance

My thoughts are that you need better and controlled ventilation. My system filters down to 2.5pm, so smoke particles aren’t an issue and if we wanted we could shut it down completely if there was too bad a smell.
Remember you need to remove contaminants from the indoor air and replace them with fresh air. This is not the same as just removing contaminants and no air purifiers replace CO2 or volatile organic compounds with oxygen.

@backlinks030, I need to ask where you are. The links you gave don’t work for me. They send me to the Amazon home page with an invitation to change country, which I didn’t accept. Also wildfires are extremely rare in the UK, so any advice anyone on this forum would be based on principles rather than experience.
